Dolomiti Dreams

Welcome !!!

I am an Englishman who is privileged to live in the lakeside village of Alleghe, in the heart of the magnificent Dolomiti mountains, at the foot of Civetta, in sight of Marmolada. I first came to the Agordino Valley in September, 2006, for 2 weeks with a group of 10 folk from the University of Edinburgh. So impressed was I with the kindness of the local people and the strong sense of community that exists here, and the spectacular surrounding mountains and forests, that I now live here permanently..
I am usually “on the hill” 2 or 3 days a week, and so, over the course of the last few years have built up a good knowledge of the local area. Conscious of my good fortune, I am happy to share that good fortune with mountain-loving friends and guests!

I AM NOT A QUALIFIED MOUNTAIN GUIDE but have been climbing mountains and leading expeditions around the world all my life. (My CV is attached).
I am happy to offer practical support, escorted trips and local advice. I have very good local sporting and retail contacts and know many of the best hotels in the Agordino Valley, which ones suit a sports group, which suits a family, which suits the individual, depending upon your activity and your aspirations. I can also arrange drop-off and pick-ups from the airports and should you have chosen self-catering accommodation I can provide a welcome catering pack to be waiting for you when you first arrive be it in the silent hours or during siesta time.
